Rocky's Robins
Supporting primary & secondary victims of violence
Rocky's Robins is a registered charity as a CIO that promotes and advocates for health and well being by supporting primary and secondary victims of violence.
Rocky's Robins was set up and registered with the Charity Commission in November 2014. We are a small inner-city Community Interest Organisation run by 3 Trustee volunteers working to offer support services in the heart of Manchester to victims of violence and we cover all areas of violence and abuse from child abuse; rape; sexual assault; domestic violence; street violence; honour crimes; forced marriages; hate crimes such as racism; sexism; homophobia; to homicide . We believe in the true sentiment of the concept of charity which is why we aim to work with others with similar individuals and community groups and share space on this iSOW website, financed by StreetWise Pioneers as our individual website drained the little resources we had.
We believe finances should never be an obstacle for RR to provide services or for our clients. We cover costs, where possible out of our pockets and maintain a high standard of service to those require our services.
Over the time we have been in operation, we have also been networking and collaborating with other groups that have similar values and aims as RR. We have been working collaborative and joint supportively with the SWP's developing tangible solutions in order to extend our services. We have developed a proposal and business plan strategy to achieve those goals which is all inclusive and coined the phrase of U&I United Interests.
For the past 2 years we have doubled in numbers when we began working with DzArk who share our vision who are working with On Q and B'sTing as well as others such Artists Dodger and Mr Boxe. We have worked together to form the U&I Board of Guardians. We support and promote each other and work together to extend our pooled goods and services in order to reach our goals.
RR are currently governing these groups as yet unregistered community groups on a volunteering basis and we are intending to include their activities in our future funding bids to cover costs for support and community activities until such time they become independently governed and self sufficient. At this stage, they would be in a position to support RR and U&I from their profits. RR provides this support through our Objectives of self and community empowerment.
The support and collaboration with these groups is not only beneficial to RR achieving our aims to extend our services wider whilst maintaining quality of service, it has been a real pleasure to work with such talented and caring individuals.
